Language requirements

Most courses are taught in Spanish, which is why all international non-degree seeking students are required to prove their intermediate language competence in Spanish.

Language of Instruction at ORT University

At ORT, the primary language of instruction is Spanish. We offer a limited selection of courses taught in English, with a minimum of 5 English-taught courses available every Fall semester. You can view the list of these courses here.

Spanish Proficiency Requirements

General Requirement: To enroll in Spanish-taught courses, you must have a Spanish proficiency level exceeding B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
School of Communication: For journalism courses at the School of Communication, an advanced level of Spanish (C1/C2, CEFR) is required.

Proof of Language Competence

You can demonstrate your Spanish language proficiency by submitting one of the following documents:

A statement from a Spanish teacher regarding your language proficiency, accompanied by the syllabus of the most recent Spanish course taken.
A DELE certificate, or a similar recognized qualification.

English-Taught Courses

Students planning to enroll only in English-taught courses are not required to meet the Spanish language proficiency requirement. The list of available English-taught courses is communicated to our partner institutions one semester in advance.
